Sinislosion is a Washington State based Video Game Studio founded by Jessie J. T. and PlagueOnline in mid 2022. Since then, our team has grown to a modest 11 very creative and devoted people who have come together to create something truely special. We are currently working on a multitude of Projects, including some Open Source initiatives such as the Raquet Game Engine. We believe that Video Games are art, and that the best works come from several minds working together to create something, rather than a single visionary making what they think will be best. As part of that, we encourage all of our team members to give ideas to projects they work on, and pitch project ideas they want to work on to us.
The name Sinislosion comes from our old mascot "Sinny", mixed with the word "explosion". Nowadays, our mascot is the ethereal Sinipup, a blue dog who likes to eat paper on wednesdays illustrated by Jessie J. T. and named by PlagueDoc.
While working on our game B-TRON, we decided we wanted to make a custom engine to limit ourselves to specific fantasy hardware requirements. This led to the creation of our Free as in free beer, and free spech game engine Raquet. The main design philosophy behind Raquet was to keep it simple, easy to use, and allow for easy modification of its source code. The base Raquet engine takes a lot of inspiration from the NES, including using palettes, a sprite format that only supports 4 colors, and some optional rendering options like integer scaling to help enhance the look of the pixel art.
B-TRON is the primary project currently being worked on by the Sinislosion team. The game is a story-based top down shooter, primarily themed around old arcade games. You play as B-3, a cyborg police unit created to hunt down rebels in the nearby area. As the story goes on, you slowly realize that your purpose isn't what your boss claims it to be. We have an estimated release date of Fall 2026, but we will take as much time as is necessary to make sure the final game is ready.
